Request Services

Important Notice – Disability Rights Iowa’s federal grants are at risk of reduction or elimination.

Due to the proposed elimination and reduction of some of our funding, DRI will be limited in what new cases we can accept. Starting on July 21, 2025, DRI will only accept new cases that meet eligibility requirements of our PADD, PAIMI, PATBI, PABSS, or PAAT grants. If you are a person with a developmental or intellectual disability, a mental illness, a brain injury, if you are a Social Security recipient with a barrier to work, or if you need help accessing Assistive Technology, DRI may still be able to help you.

In the event you have a disability-rights problem, and you are ineligible for the above programs, DRI can only provide information and referral services.

By limiting new cases under certain grants, DRI will be able to continue to support the clients we are currently assisting.

We recognize this decision will have a tremendous impact on Iowans with disabilities.  DRI did not make this decision lightly. Unfortunately, our funding limitations will not allow us to continue operating at full capacity.  We will update this page if circumstances change.

If you need assistance with a case and DRI is unable to assist you due to these potential cuts, please consider contacting your members of Congress to share how vital DRI’s services are to you.

For a list of all areas we currently take cases in please go to the “What We Do” section of our website.

DRI does not have an income limit or a language requirement to qualify for help.
