Know Your Rights

Disability Rights Iowa helps you become the best possible self-advocate and defender of your rights. Our staff will take the time to understand you, the problems you face, and what we can do to help.

Information and Referral

In the case that DRI cannot provide direct help, we will refer you to another agency that may be able to provide the proper assistance. We may also provide the information you need to understand your rights through our resource center, training and education opportunities, and other services available to the disability community.Empowerment and education are key to self-advocacy. Our team provides you with educational tools, empowerment tactics, and legal advice so that you can defend your rights with confidence.

Education and Empowerment

At DRI, we believe you know your needs best. We connect you with our advocates and a robust resource center to empower and educate you to be able to advocate for yourself. Browse our fact sheets, handouts and advocacy tips, or contact our team to help defend your rights.

Outreach and Training

DRI will provide self-advocacy training, education and training for people with disabilities family, providers and others as established in our Areas of Focus.

If you would like DRI to participate in an event, outreach or training, please contact us at info@driowa.org to request DRI to participate.

Technical Assistance

DRI will provide assistance to attorneys, social workers, advocates and other organizations who are working with individuals with disabilities.
