
Staff Attorney
Emily is a staff attorney at Disability Rights Iowa, joining the team in April 2026. She attended the University of Iowa, earning a bachelor’s degree in political science, and minors in social justice, and environmental policy. In 2025, she graduated from Drake Law School with honors and received a certificate of International Law and Global Citizenship. While at Drake, Emily was awarded the Timothy N. Carlucci Award for best exemplifying civility and professionalism in her dealings with fellow students and others in the profession. During her legal education, she was a recipient of the Outstanding Student Leader Award and the Most Outstanding Student in the Nation for the Delta Theta Phi Law Fraternity, which she served as Dean and Vice Dean. Emily’s note, Wait, How Long Ago Was the Thirteenth Amendment? How the Most Egregious Modern Day Human Rights Abuse Is Affecting the World of Agriculture was published in the Drake Journal of Agricultural Law, which she served as a note editor. Away from the office, Emily enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, reading, and appreciates attending concerts, sporting events, and wandering around Des Moines.
