Mistie Johnson

WIPA Project Director

Mistie Johnson brings over 15 years of experience in disability advocacy, benefits planning, and inclusive employment initiatives. She currently serves as the Project Director and Community Work Incentives Coordinator for Disability Rights Iowa, leading WIPA services across Iowa and Northwest Illinois and providing expert guidance on Social Security benefits and work incentives.

Mistie previously supported youth, job seekers, and employers through her roles in higher education career services, WIOA youth programming, and Iowa’s Employment Network for the Ticket to Work program. She holds an MBA from Walden University and certifications including the Community Work Incentive Coordinator credential from Virginia Commonwealth University.

Deeply connected to disability advocacy both personally and professionally, Mistie is committed to empowering individuals with disabilities to make informed employment decisions and access equitable opportunities.
